The Standard XHD Model features the exclusive RubbAir patented construction with
the flexible rubber I-beam extrusions that made RubbAir famous. Adhesive-bonded inside the
door, the I-beam gives the door historisis or "memory": the ability of the door
to flex upon impact and then return to its original position or shape.
In addition to these features, the Standard XHD Model has additional durability
components, namely two additional flexible internal strengtheners and two more external
layers of fabric-reinforced vinyl. These are bonded inside the hinge side of the
door-body. Doors over 8 high also include reinforcing stiffeners inside the top of
the door-body. Further, the mounts used to secure gravity-action cam and cam follower
hardware to the door body are an offset design and are steel instead of aluminum for
greater strength and prevent the diagonal cracking of doors that is common with other
traffic doors.
These features combine to create the most durable impact traffic door on the
market today! They provide extra strength at the flex-stress points of doors, especially
in quick-turn flow-of-traffic areas, where wide loads go through narrow openings and in
very high-volume traffic applications.
